Brown Bear in Pentwater

Came here with the kids nice clean and friendly. Only down fall was the burger was dry not seasoned and the pineapple on it tasted like can. My sons Cuban the pulled pork had a fish taste. The chicken sandwiches were amazing. I would defiantly go back but be more cautious of what was ordered:

Quiet Saturday night, beautiful place. Friendly waitress who was very polite, and gave great service! 1st time eating at this one, and we loved it. Food was delicious. Fries were perfect! The cranberry walnut chicken salad was absolutely fullfilling and well made! Absolutely delicious! Thanks for a delicious meal!

A great bar in Pentwater, it has a cost atmosphere, great crouds in the summer and conveniently located in the middle of downtown. They also have any type of food that you would want.

Good Dixie burger. Burger, pulled pork, Ray's BBQ sauce and coleslaw with cold beer. Bar staff very friendly.

Food is good. Service is good . I do not recommend drinking the water. The after taste is terrible.

My absolute favorite place to eat. One of the things I look forward to the most when I'm on that side of the state.

This place is fairly decent. They have a second story patio which was very nice to sit on. Service was friendly but a little slow for a Sunday evening 9 pm. It seems like this place is all about their burgers. My whole table ordered them. I had the Olive Burger Deluxe which was enjoyable but nothing special. If you get their special burger, “the cub” is already the size of an actual burger. Their homemade chips are 5 star quality in my opinion. Additionally the burger was cooked as I had asked for it; medium. Last point: the water had a bad after taste. All in all, if you’re looking for a pub atmosphere and American food, this is a solid choice but nothing that will blow your tastebuds into the next level

I have been to Pentwater multiple times over the years and each year Brown Bear has been closed for “maintenance” purposes. For a place only open for a short period during the summer their ability to stay up and operating even while being the “attraction” of the town is disheartening. To me it’s just an excuse to close for the long holiday weekend and suite their own desires. Not even worth attempting to go if they don’t want to be open.

Delicious and juicy burger! Chips were a bit lacking in flavor for me. Very filling too. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Great place to get a burger at least. Haven't had much else other than the fried pickles. Wish they would update the menu and try something new though. It has been the same menu since the first time I was there 5 years ago.

Best burger we have had in a LONG time. Service was outstanding. Fast, hot and exactly how we ordered. The service was amazing. Everyone working together FOR the customer. Felt very safe due to Covid restrictions. Social distancing, masks worn correctly, and sanitizing everything as they went.

We stopped by on a Saturday night. Pentwater was packed as usual on a fine summer night. The Bear was busy but we got a table right when we walked in. GREAT service, food and atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Good food, quiet at this time of the. Restrooms were cold and in need of upgrading.

I've always loved the brown bear's food and that's what keeps me coming back, but on today's visit the guy working the door was exceptionally rude.

The restaurant is convenient because their not alot of places to eat at.

When you go there don't look at the menu, get the double bear, trust me.

The service was pretty good. The food was amazing. We just had burgers and fries but the burger was cooked to my liking and was perfect. Everything was clean including the bathroom. The cook even came out to ask us how our meal was. Cant wait to go back

Recently went while in town, it was average. Our boys had the steak which was not very flavorful, the burger was decent, salad was standard, they were busy so service was not great and cocktail was weak. The atmosphere was lively which was fun.

Stick with the burger, I got the Cuban last time I was there. It was highlighted like thier burgers. It was not the best Cuban I have had. They are a burger joint and do great burgers

We had a huge group of 24 people. They were able to get to us and do a great job. They could have use more help for our group but the gal that waited on us did an awesome job!

Came here...service was great and the food was great! Pictures are the broasted chicken and A1 Burger. Both really good! I'd recommend!

My whole family really enjoyed The Brown Bear. We've been a few times when we were in Pentwater, and it's always been great! The staff are friendly, helpful and they check in on you a few times during the meal. Eating out on the upper deck is really nice! The burgers taste great, and are more than a meal! I highly recommend you stop in next time you're in Pentwater Michigan!

Although no strangers to Michigan's west coast, this was our first time in Pentwater. We stopped at The Brown Bear to meet friends for lunch and were happy to see that they had secured a table on a second story outdoor deck in front of the restaurant overlooking the town and harbor. The food was very good - I had a sub and my wife nachos, and the service fast and friendly. We would visit again.

Delicious food as always

Visited the Pentwater version of this local favorite. We sat upstairs and really enjoyed the great view. There was outdoor patio seating upstairs as well but it looked hot in the afternoon sun. Food was good and everything was clean.

My favorite burger place. The bear burger is a must if your hungry. It is huge.

I had thr mushroom and banana pepper burger with deep fried mushrooms and my wife had a chili cheeseburger. Everything was as ordered and really good. Its always nice to get home with takeout and not have anything missing or wrong. Love it!
